Good music, good food expected for the Douglasville PD Music Festival

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Sunny weather will accompany good music and delicious food on Saturday afternoon when the Douglasville Police Department hosts its Music Festival from noon to 5 p.m.

The event, free for performers and the public, promises live music on the lawn of police headquarters on Fairborn Road – and all music will be free of offensive content. The talents will receive first, second and third place prizes based on the applause of the audience.

According to the department’s online publications, the competition will have MC Aaron Dandrea and a DJ throughout the day. Other performers will include saxophonist De Wayne Martin, guitarist Bennie Amey, jazz artist Joel Cruickshank, as well as rapper – and Douglasville police officer – Alonzo Merchant.

Vendors signed up to date include Tintswalo with hibachi, D’s Rolling Snack Shack with chicken wraps and Italian sausages, Tasty Miracle Food with Creole cuisine, and Chick-fil-A with its famous chicken sandwiches.

“Relax, bring a lawn chair and enjoy,” said Sgt. Shannon Dean, community outreach coordinator for the police department.

Vendor locations are $10 and require registration. For more information, contact Dean at 678-293-1621 or [email protected]
