New voices on air, more jazz coverage online
KNKX is expanding its jazz host roster and investing in more jazz coverage both on air and online.
Robin Lloyd, jazz journalist
Robin Lloyd will bring his extensive knowledge of jazz and blues to a new position at KNKX. Over the years Lloyd has written and produced many stories about music and the artists who make it.
“We are thrilled that she can do even more storytelling and reporting in this role,” said KNKX Music Programming Director Carol Handley. “This new position will help you stay informed about what’s happening in the jazz world and deepen your connection to the music you love.”
Lloyd is also the host of Jazz Caliente, which airs at 5 p.m. on Saturdays. Tune in this weekend for some great Latin Jazz.
Meet Steve Edwards
Originally from England, Steve Edwards has deep roots in jazz and soul. He hosted the BBC’s JazzFM in London, interviewing artists and cultivating the community. He moved to the United States to continue broadcasting, and his work in jazz and soul earned him an induction into the Nevada Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame in 2014.
Edwards will host weekday Jazz nights at 7, mixing classic and contemporary jazz and blues. It starts on October 18.
Meet Terae Stefon
Born and raised in Seattle, Terae Stefon worked her way into radio volunteering at local community radio stations, before working as a producer and traffic reporter. You may have heard him host weekend shows on KNKX’s HD2 signal, Jazz24. Now you will also hear it during the week.
You can stream Jazz24 from your mobile device or tell your smart speaker “Play Jazz24”.
“Steve and Terae will engage with the KNKX jazz community and also contribute to our jazz storytelling,” Handley added. “We are excited about all of these changes and the new ways they will allow us to engage with you.”
