NOLA Zydeco Festival will bring sounds and flavors of Acadian Creole to Crescent Park
The NOLA Zydeco Festival will bring the sounds and flavors of Acadiana to Crescent Park on Saturday, March 26. This free, family-friendly event will not only feature live bands and musical acts, but will also offer zydeco dance lessons, as well as access to delicious food vendors and unique merchandise. The festival entrance is located at the foot of Elysian Fields Avenue along the Mississippi River near the New Orleans Jazz Museum.
WWL-TV hosts Harold Guillory and Charisse Gibson will keep the energy going all day at NOLA Zydeco party with Zydeco dance teachers Arthur Corbin and friends. Zydeco bands and artists headlining the event this year include Chris Ardoin, Rusty Metoyer and The Zydeco Krush, Marcus Ardoin and Da Zydeco Legendz. All the groups will perform live on the main Alphonse “Bois Sec” Ardoin stage.

Co-founder Courtney Smith added, “We’ve been planning this for some time to honor our great-grandfather Alphonse ‘Bois Sec’ Ardoin and his Creole zydeco heritage, as well as all the families and friends who love to dance and sing, the gathering is important.
