The 2022 Young Artists Festival welcomes choreographer Shayna Golub

The Northeast Ballet Company, under the direction of Darlene Myers, is pleased to welcome former Myers Ballet School and Northeast Ballet Company dancer Shayna Golub as guest choreographer for the 2022 Young Artists Festival to be held at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center on Sunday, June 5. .

Ms. Golub’s many years of classical ballet training and performance experience at Myers Ballet School and Northeast Ballet Company laid the foundation for her exciting career in dance and aerial performance. After earning a bachelor’s degree in dance from Muhlenberg College in 2016, where she studied ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz and tap, Ms. Golub continued her training at the New England Center for Circus Arts, where she honed his aerial skills.

Ms. Golub’s aerial performances include ABCirque Productions, Incanto Productions and Atlas Circus Company. She has also been a featured dancer on tour with Marquise Productions (now CCIAC based in Troy, NY). Most notably, Ms. Golub performed with musical group Phish at their 2018 New Year’s Eve concert at Madison Square Garden. In addition to her career as a professional artist, Ms. Golub has worked as an arts administrator for The Artist Athlete, Hideaway Circus, The Muse Brooklyn, The Cirque Us and Schoen Movement Company. She also gave dance lessons for children for over ten years.

Ms. Golub brings twelve years of deep choreographic experience and her unique interdisciplinary training to the SPAC main stage on June 5. She will choreograph the final ensemble for the festival which will feature dancers from the Northeast Ballet Company’s youth division, the Capital District Youth Chorale and the Empire State Youth Orchestra. Northeast Ballet Company will create two additional pieces that afternoon with fifteen young dancers.

The 2022 Festival des Jeunes Artistes concert at the SPAC is a free event and open to the public.
