The Arts Festival presents artists and musicians on August 6 and 7

The Adler Arts Center and the GLMV Chamber of Commerce have announced the 41st Festival of the Arts, to be held Saturday and Sunday, August 6 and 7 at Cook Park in downtown Libertyville.

The festival is a two-day juried arts fair featuring live music, food vendors and over 60 visual artists. Artists open their stalls at 9 a.m. both days, with music numbers starting at 11 a.m. and food vendors opening at noon. Activities continue until 9 p.m. on Saturday and 5 p.m. on Sunday.

“It’s such a fun festival to take the family to. Admission is free, you have a variety of artwork to view and purchase, great live music, and multiple food options,” Jena said. Mertz, member of the festival committee. “My family attends every year. We came before I was part of (the) festival.”

Musical groups include Sneezy, Highland Park Pops, Albion West, Greg Woods, Moon Money, Inversion Jazz Band, Blue Buddha and Joyce Renee Walker.

Food vendors include Mamma Mia Pizza, Taco Estilo 312, and Kiki’s Cotton Candy Food Truck. The beer tent, for ages 21 and up, will serve a variety of local specialties, including some Mickey Finn beers.
